Traditional house Augustus

Augustus House is located in the village of Xirokampi 4 kilometres from Maleme, west of Chania.It is a traditional village which maintains an equally traditional pace of life. With this in mind Augustus House was created for those wanting to take advantage of this and slow their busy lives albeit temporarily. The house can take up to 9 visitors and includes 4 bedrooms with independent bathrooms, living room with fireplace, completely equipped Kitchen (refrigerator, electric oven, coffee-pot, toaster, kettle, dish-washer, cooking utensils, Washing machine) and many more. House-Cleaning is being made twice per week. In the entry of the house you can find our beautiful flower garden packed with flowers that have always embellished the Cretan courtyards and also a huge variety of aromatic and Cretes curative herbs, e.g. spearmint, oregano, rosemary, chamomile, sage, laurel, Pot marigold, lavender, lemongrass, aloe, thyme etc Cretan hospitality is renowned throughout Greece and we take pleasure in our visitors trying: -Wine made from our vines and kept stored with consciousness and warmth in the houses cellar. -Fresh vegetables and fruits of (biological farming) from the orchard and our garden. -Bread and Rusk baked in a traditional way. -Cretan Raki from the traditional cauldron which is there in order to initiate you within its secrets. Visitors can also take part in all farming activities - baking bread rusk, Cycling, Horse riding, Pottery, Grape-harvest, Traditional Raki still, Olive gathering (olive-crop), Orchard Garden. We also have a collection of hand tools from years past which include farming tools as well as a hand loom.
