15 km to the east of the city of Rethymno within the largest olive grove of the Mediterranean lies the picturesque village of Asteri at the entrance of which there is the Asteri (Amazing Villas) Villa. It is a ground floor house, built around 1955, which was the house of the owners family and it also housed his carpentry workshop of the owner until the beginning of 1980. The current appearance of the villa, after the addition of a floor, with respect to the traditional architecture of the village and the use of materials like stone and wood in the renovation, is a modern house offering all the comforts and facilities a visitor can ask. Upon entering the house we come to a large space on the ground floor where there are the living room, the fireplace, the dining room and the kitchen, functional and well equipped with all the necessary facilities. There are also two bedrooms and two large bathrooms. Access to the first floor is through an interior iron staircase with wooden steps. On the first floor we have two bedrooms with their own en-suite bathrooms. One of them faces the east and the other the west. On the west side of the first floor there is also a large veranda with a panoramic view over the village and the sea. The outside area of the villa is properly designed so that it can offer the residents of the house complete isolation and peace for carefree holidays. The swimming pool is on the west side of the house, exposed to the sun throughout the day. Moreover, the visitor can enjoy the shade of the wooden pergola as well as the rich foliage of a mulberry tree which is next to the swimming pool. There is a space for barbecue and a traditional oven burning wood. There is also a table for 6 people under the pergola so that you can enjoy your coffee or food outside, if you so wish. The size of the swimming pool is 40 square meters (8 x 5). The shallowest part is 0.95 m. and the deepest 1.40. Moreover at the shallow end of the pool there is a special childrens swimming pool whose depth is up to 0.55 m. Finally, around the villa there are a lot of trees (cypress trees orange trees) along with various bushes that offer the visitor a special picture.
