The sources Aggitis cave is the largest river cave in the world (21 km in length) located in Prosotsani of Drama. The uniqueness lies in the fact that the floor of the river flowing Aggitis. The rich decoration includes huge stalactites. The cave is open to visitors 500 meters in length and spans a total length of 21 kilometers. Impressive is the output of the river through the mountain. The underground river cave leading among other things, the waters of the basin of the Lower Nevrokopi.

The cave called Maara, name the etymology of which is either from Arabic and means small cave or from Hebrew meaning water from the mountain. A very small part of the cave at the exit of the river has been known since antiquity. In the region have been many archaeological finds and a mammoth tusk from, kept in the Archaeological Museum of Drama. The cave has also been found a unique species of fish, like Briana and tylinari at depths 6,500 meters and kind of a unique semi-transparent petrokaravidas in depth 7100 meters above the cave. The cave has been reported transparent fish.

The cave is located in the municipality Prosotsanis Drama and is accessible from Drama, Kavala and Thessaloniki. It can be visited and used since 2001.

The cave is open every day (and weekend).

In case of leaving before the scheduled date, you are charged 50% of the total stay if this is at least 3 days before otherwise 100% the total cost will be charged.
